Change in Billing Cycle for Number Rentals

DATE:
AUTHOR: The API team

VTS has implemented a revised billing cycle for new number rentals.

In the past, when a customer rented a new number from VTS:

  • On the day the number was rented, VTS deducted a prorated monthly rental fee for the days remaining in the current month.

  • From the following month onwards, VTS deducted the full monthly rental fee for renewal on the first day of subsequent months.

As of April 14:

  • On the day you rent the number, VTS will deduct the full monthly rental fee.

  • From next month onward, VTS will deduct the full monthly rental fee for renewal on the same date as the rented date of the subsequent months.

For example, if you rent a US local number on May 10:

  • On May 10, VTS will deduct $0.50.

  • From June onward, VTS will deduct $0.50 on the 10th of every subsequent month.

The new billing cycle applies only to numbers you rent going forward. Numbers you rented with VTS before April 14 will continue to be renewed and billed on the first day of every month.

You can track the renewal date of your phone numbers on the console via Phone Numbers > Active Numbers

The purpose of this change is to prevent service disruptions that may occur when a large renewal deduction is made on the first of the month, resulting in a negative account balance if your balance was low.
